DISH THE DETAILS…

Look – we couldn’t find anything locally to us that started with the letter “Q”, so we made light of the situation and headed off in the car…an hour away from home, to pick up a Chinese take away. If that’s not commitment to the Blog, I don’t know what is 🤣

We weren’t expecting too much – a Chinese is a Chinese, right?

Or so we thought.

Qs kitchen is quite simply – class. The service is so friendly, we were greeted with smiles and a few jokes. The atmosphere is light, breezy and warm, which isn’t often the case with takeaways; particularly not on a busy Friday evening.

But as we waited for our food – sipping on a bubble tea – there was a steady stream of people arriving. Collecting food, ordering spice bags. And all of them were greeted with warmth and familiarity. Qs Kitchen is a central part of the fabric of Terenure, and we were quietly thrilled to have taken the time out to be a small part of it for just a moment.

Heading home we monched on our prawn crackers, salivating by the time we got home to tuck into our Friday night indulgence. Great food. Gorgeous people. Thriving clientele.

Just a solidly good take away. If you are nearby you should check it out.

THE ALPHABET DINNERS JOURNEY CONTINUES NEXT MONTH…

Next month we are spicing it up with the letter “R”…any guesses?!

Cheers, crew! 🥂

O is for – Osteria Lucio

Osteria Lucio is very literally tucked away from the rest of Dublin in a building called The Malting Tower in Grand Canal Quay. The ingredients are seasonal, local and carefully selected for flavour and quality. The wines are all from Italian smallholdings. The coffee-infused Negronis are stupidly good. No really. Have two.
